Yesterday I needed to go to our local Fry's to buy some hard drives... it was a beautiful day so I decided to take the bike (when I say bike, I mean my Honda Goldwing)

Last weekend it was acting a bit strange in that it was 'missing out' sometimes when I gave it the gas... Karla was riding with me and I mentioned to her that I probably need to take it in for service before long.
When I left yesterday, the bike was not running well... So just as I left the house, I decided that right after I went to Fry's I would take the bike to the shop and have them look at it.
I got about 1 mile from the house on the corner of 360 and Spicewood Springs and the bike just stopped... died... osta-la-vista-baby.
The intersection was busy with traffic but fortunately, there was a bricked walkway next to the light so I tried to push the bike out of the highway onto the bricks...
Have any of you every tried to push an 850 pound bike? It's not easy.
This went on for about 5 minutes when a gentleman in a nice car stopped and got out gave me a hand pushing the bike... Turns out he was a Goldwing owner also... Nice guy... thanks!
Thank goodness for AAA auto club... I've been a member for 15 years...
So I called them and they sent out a really nice JerrDan Towing truck to pick me and the bike up.
I was given the choice of towing the bike back home or to the shop so after confirming with the shop that they could give me a ride home, I had the towing service drop me and the bike off there.
Once at the Honda shop they told me that had a brand new 2006 Honda Goldwing with a GPS built in.
Wow... that was really tempting... but I said "Thanks, but no thanks" and had them drive me home.
Still haven't heard what went wrong with the bike... but the shop thinks it was a dead cell in the battery.
Whatever it is, I'm jones-ing for my bike back... the weather here is beautiful and it's calling my name.

What I Bring to the Table

What I bring to the table. It is reasonable to ask what skills I would bring to the table when producing your audio project. First you need to know that audio recording and production has been my fulltime job for over 37 years now. I've seen just about every kind of project...

Some have asked what I use for a vocal pre amp. I use a 1950's vintage RCA BC-2b which has been modified by me with a different front end and outputs. It still uses the 12AY7 tube, but the critical feature of the pre amp is the transformers. You MUST use the...

Believe it or not, I have heard people say this... "I aligned this machine a couple of years ago...why should it need it so soon again?" This attitude has been a continued source of amazement to me. The fact that analog machines are living in an environment, which changes with humidity,...
